Daniel Stern was certainly no novice when he starred in 1990’s Home Alone. He’d been in films for nearly a decade, but the hit movie made him well known and in demand. However, it seems that Stern never topped Marv Murchins as a role. So what happened to the goofball actor?
In his high school days in Bethesda, Maryland, Stern started a theater career that would eventually lead to working in Broadway and Off Broadway plays. Then in 1979 he snared his first movie role in Breaking Away. The actor’s career really picked up after he starred in Diner in 1984 and he subsequently won a couple of roles in Woody Allen films. So, by the time of Home Alone, Stern was a recognizable jobbing actor.
