Or maybe you’ve joined the health hype and started blending it into your morning smoothies or sprinkling it into lattes and herbal teas. We are of course talking about turmeric, the spice that’s quickly becoming one of the trendiest ingredients in town.
In fact, turmeric goods brought in close to $330 million across America during 2018. That’s a rise of in excess of 600 percent since 2008, as reported by Nutrition Business Journal in 2019. And with Google searches on the word “turmeric” rising by three-quarters since 2012, the vibrant spice seems to have spread like wildfire. Indeed, it now fills the Instagram feeds of foodies and health fanatics, and colors – or rather stains – the counters in many of our households.
