Vicks VapoRub is a famous medicinal ointment used to soothe all kinds of pain and illness. Say a person is stricken with a nasty cough. Rather than swallowing a pill, they might instead opt to apply VapoRub to their chest, breathing in the substance’s vapors in the hope of easing their symptoms. For muscle discomfort, a person can also apply it onto the skin above the troublesome region.

It’s a well-known product, but Vicks VapoRub can also be used in ways that people might not realize. There are those, for instance, who believe that VapoRub can be coated onto a person’s heels to help repair dry, damaged skin. And there are also claims that it helps to reduce dandruff.

Another thing that VapoRub can supposedly help out with is earache. All you need to do, apparently, is to get a cotton ball smeared in a modest amount of the stuff. Then, plant it in the ear and leave it for a few hours. If this is done a few times throughout the course of the day, it might help to ease your discomfort.

If the ear’s infected, of course, the best course of action is ultimately to visit a trained medical professional. After all, VapoRub is by no means a magical solution against stubborn illnesses. Yet nonetheless, it might just help a person in aural agony to improve their day substantially.
