In 2012 Dean McDermott defended allowing his and Tori Spelling’s son, Liam, to get a pedicure. “He asked if he could get his nails painted like mom and his sister Stella. I gladly obliged him,” McDermott wrote on his blog at the time. “He would get his nails done with black and yellow like Batman, or red and blue with spider webs. He was a superhero and a rockstar.”

14. Gwen Stefani

Singer Gwen Stefani spoke to PrideSource in 2015 about the way she chose to raise her kids. Her oldest, Kingston, likes tutus and nail varnish and she’s happy to encourage him. She recounted to the publication a story about Kingston painting his nails pink. When she asked if he would be embarrassed later, he told her, “No, I don’t care, it’s a cool color.” And the singer was impressed with the youngster’s reasoning. “I just love that,” she said.
