Separations aren’t always acrimonious. In fact, some celebrity couples can emerge from difficult divorces on friendly terms even under the microscope of media scrutiny. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, for example, survived a widely publicized breakup relatively unscathed. Then when Affleck revealed all about his health struggles, he showed nothing but love for his ex-wife.
Many people know who Affleck is. But contrary to popular belief, the world-famous actor isn’t a native Bostonian. In fact he was born on August 15, 1972, in Berkeley, northeast of San Francisco, California. When he was age three, his family relocated to Falmouth, Massachusetts, but later settled in Cambridge, just outside Boston.
Affleck’s younger brother, Casey, who is now also a well-known actor, arrived in 1975. The boys were raised by their mom Chris and dad Tim, with Mom working as an elementary school teacher after graduating from Harvard. And while that might seem like a nice life for some, the family weren’t without their problems.
