At some points in our lives, we may have to make decisions that have the potential to change our futures completely. Someone who can certainly attest to that is Ryan Finley, who was faced with an impossible choice when his wife, Jill, fell into a coma in May 2007 and was placed on life support. However, after Ryan opted to switch off the equipment that was keeping her alive two weeks later, something quite remarkable happened.
Residents of Jones, Oklahoma, Ryan and Jill tied the knot back in 2003. Ryan was plying his trade as a plumbing contractor, while Jill had a job as a loan underwriter. And as with many couples, they would carry out their own routines during their time off at the weekends.
Jill enjoyed a little extra time in bed during those mornings, for instance, while Ryan would get some fresh air outside their house, relaxing with a newspaper by his side. But this wasn’t the case on May 26, 2007. On that particular morning, in fact, Ryan felt a strange urge to stir his sleeping wife much earlier than usual.
