After Ashley Zachmeyer fell pregnant, doctors warned her that the chances of her baby surviving were slim. But although the odds were against her, the expectant mom made the decision to to fight for her unborn child. And as her pregnancy progressed, doctors were amazed by what was happening before their eyes.
Zachmeyer works for a medical company and lives with her husband Jeffery, a truck driver, in Dallas, Georgia. The couple both attended South Paulding high school in Douglasville and announced their engagement in September 2016. The couple were married soon after, on March 18, 2017. But the wedding wasn’t the only cause for celebration.
Indeed, the pair was also expecting their first child and discovered this when Zachmeyer was seven weeks pregnant. She was stunned, because she had been told that it wouldn’t be possible. “I had been diagnosed with something called P.C.O.S., Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, which led to infertility. My husband had also been told there was a slim chance of him having kids as well,” she shared on the Today.com forums.
